Welcome to Bethany’s Joy! Here’s everything you need to know about how pre-orders, pickups, payments, and all the not-so-fun-but-necessary details work around here. I keep it simple, clear, and fair (with a little sweetness on top!).
🍪 How Pre-Orders Work
I don’t take orders all day, every day.
Instead, I post specific pre-orders with set pickup dates. When a preorder drop opens on my Shop, you’ll see:
- The pickup date
- The pickup location
- The items available that week
If it’s listed on the Shop, it’s available. If not… it’s probably in my oven or in my brain.
Pre-orders are prepaid only – no pay-at-pickup option. But the good news is this – I usually offer discounts for preorders (if you’ve signed up for text updates) and you’ll also earn loyalty points towards even more discounts for every preorder you make.
🧁 Custom Orders & Rush Orders
- I do not accept rush orders on regular weekly offerings.
- If you need something custom for an event, party, or special occasion, reach out!
- Rush jobs for actual events may be possible and do include an extra fee, which varies by situation.
- I do not rearrange my baking schedule for “just a couple cookies.” My family and my sanity appreciate your understanding.
📍 Pickup Location & Hours
Unless prearranged otherwise, all orders – preorders and custom – are picked up at the West Plains Farmers & Artisans Market:
📍 218 West Main Street, West Plains, MO
Hours: 10am–5pm, Monday–Friday
Your pickup window is:
- The day I drop items off (until 5pm), or
- The next day from 10am–5pm.
If you miss your original pickup time, you may still pick up anytime that week while the shop is open.
After the week ends, any unclaimed items will be discarded or donated.
❄️ Missed Pickups
Life happens – I get it.
If you know you can’t make your pickup window:
- Please message me ASAP.
- I can place your order in the freezer at the shop for pickup later in the week.
If it sits longer than a couple weeks, it will be thrown out or donated.
No refunds are offered for missed pickups.
💳 Payments
All orders must be paid upfront through my shop.
I accept all major credit cards.
🚫 Cancellations, Refunds & Order Changes
Pre-Orders
- You may cancel up to 24 hours before your pickup time.
- After that point, ingredients are already in motion.
Custom Orders
- Policies vary depending on the project.
- I’ll go over details when we discuss your order.
Refunds
Due to the nature of cottage foods:
- All sales are final.
- No refunds for dissatisfaction, change of mind, or missed pickups.
- If I ever make a mistake with your order, that’s a different story – I’ll always make it right.
🥜 Allergens & Kitchen Info
My baked goods are made in a home kitchen that processes:
- Wheat
- Dairy
- Eggs
- Peanuts
- Tree nuts
- And pretty much every major allergen at some point
Even if a particular cookie doesn’t contain an allergen, cross-contamination is always possible.
If you or someone you’re ordering for has a severe allergy, I strongly recommend not purchasing.
❄️ Storage & Freshness
My treats are best enjoyed within 2–3 days for peak joy.
If you’re not planning to eat them right away:
- Freeze them! Seriously. Everything freezes beautifully.
- Most items will stay perfect for weeks in the freezer.
You’ll still be able to enjoy them past the 2–3 day window, but for best flavor and texture, freeze if you’re waiting.
